Release of sablay and tickets on Grad Detail 2. No ticket, no entrance.
To those who failed to attend Grad Detail 1, you may attend still Grad Detail 2,
covering Eligibility, Engineering Orange, Recog rites Photo/Video Coverage, College Ring and Payment. However, there will be no more ordering of sablay. You can purchase sablay at UP Alumni Center.
After this,no recognition rites transactions (claiming of tickets, payment for recognition rites) will be allowed.

MANILA, Philippines – A finance expert and election watchdog convenor is the new president of the University of the Philippines.
Alfredo E. Pascual of the Automated Election System (AES) Watch was elected on Friday morning by the UP Board of Regents, the highest decision-making body of the state university. 
Reports from UP’s school paper Philippine Collegian say Pascual was voted by a majority of the Board of Regents.
Pascual will assume office in February 2011, replacing Emerlinda Roman, UP’s first woman president.
Pascual graduated with a degree in chemistry (cum laude) in 1969 and with an MBA in 1972.
According to up.edu.ph, he is a finance professional and worked with the Asian Development Bank for 19 years until 2008.
Pascual also taught finance at the Asian Institute of Management for 9 years. Prior to that, he also taught at the UP Department of Chemistry and Ateneo de Manila University’s Department of Management Engineering and Department of Business.
He was conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award by the UP College of Business Administration in 2009.
Pascual was president of the UP Alumni Association since 2009, but he resigned in August this year because of his nomination for the UP presidency.
He also served as alumni regent of UP from 2009, with his term supposedly ending in 2012. — With report from ANC

Welcome Engineering students! The enrollment process changed by incorporating the assessment step in printing of the Form 5.
Have you signed the survey form of ESC? If yes, thank you very much! If not yet, you can go to the ESC office to answer it. The council has also put up an exhibit at the 2nd floor lobby. You may still view it.
So how was your vacation? Did you spend it wise?
We know that many of you already feel the spirit of Engineering Week. Let us face the second semester strongly. Sa mga kailangang bumawi, kaya natin ‘to! Sa mga kailangang magmaintain, tuloy-tuloy lang. Sa mga kailangan ng magmove on, let time heal you. Sa mga nagpapanggap na nakamove on na, OK lang ‘yan. Hindi ka nag-iisa.

Students from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research grabbed the top three spots of the recently concluded 24th Stat-is-Eeks.
The winning teams were:
UP AIMES – Benedict Andrade, Mico Cariño, Pia Reyes
UP Environemtal Society – Aby Espejo, Dennis Florentino, Adrian Noble
UP CIEM – Rojelee Agaton, Edward Ramos, Genesis Rapallo
In the individual elimination round, Paolo Cacnio and Pia Reyes finished 1st and 3rd place respectively.
The interuniversity quiz show was held on September 18, 2010 at the UP School of Economics Auditorium. The Stat-is-eeks is an annual quiz show on Statistics hosted by the UP Statistical Society.
